Common Bottlenecks
During cut-off operations, insert cutting widths of only a few millimeters are used to cut to the center of the workpiece. This is usually the final process and is often the bottleneck. Stable tool life without sacrificing productivity is required.
Cut-Off Challenges
Due to the narrow insert, blade widths, and longer overhangs, rigidity is difficult to achieve. Cutting speed reaches zero at the center of the workpiece, increasing cutting load. Chip control issues and tool damage are common problems during these types of operations.
Cut to the Chase with the KPK-Series
To overcome these issues, Kyocera designed each element of the unique KPK-Series of tool blocks, blades, and inserts to work in unison, providing a setup with superior rigidity, toughness, and total chip control to keep your parts spinning and lower those production downtimes.
Self-clamping inserts with no hammer or screw required
Reduce down time with faster insert replacements
Turn wrench slightly to release insert
The firmly secured insert uses three contact surfaces to eliminate sliding or chattering
Advanced chipbreaker technology inherited from KGD lineup provides excellent chip control
Firm clamping power and durable performance with the KPKTB-JCT
